How do I remove items from my closet?

You can find your closet under the customisation menu at the top of the screen. You can remove items from your closet by selecting the items you’d like to remove and clicking the “Move items” button at the bottom of the screen.

Remember that if your Neopet is currently wearing an item you will need to remove it from your pet before you can take it out of your closet!

Special deluxe paint brush set clothing items cannot be removed once they have been added to your closet.

What items can I customize my pet with?

There are all sorts of items that you can use to customise your Neopet! Backgrounds, trinkets, garlands and foregrounds can be work by all types of Neopets. Most Neopets can also wear clothing such as hats, wigs, trousers and funny glasses.

Wearable items show up in your inventory with a blue background and a convenient “(wearable)” message beneath them. Not all wearable items can be worn on all species of Neopets, however! You’ll never be able to convince your kacheek to wear a Moehog Flapper Dress, for instance. Species specific wearables will usually have the Neopet that can wear them in the item name.

How do I find clothes and other items to put on my pet?

If you are just getting started with customisation, check out the General Store in Neopia Central to find some basic wearable items for your pet.

There are always new Premium items available to customise your Neopet with in the Neocash Mall. You can also find all manner of Neopoint clothing, backgrounds and trinkets in shops throughout Neopia!

Do I need to buy Neocash to play on Neopets?

No, you do not. Neopets is free to play and will continue to be a free site. Neocash is an option for those who wish to expand their Neopets experience by shopping in the NC Mall for special apparel items, accessories, backgrounds, and more.

How do I customise my pet?

You can customize the way your Neopet looks with the handy dandy Customisation Application! Click the “Customise” link bellow your active pet or select “customise” from the top navigation to get started!

Any wearable items that you have in your closet will be available in the Customisation Application. You can drag these items on to your Neopet with your mouse or select the item and click “Apply.”

You can remove any items your Neopet is currently wearing in much the same way. Click on your pet or select the “applied” toggle to see what items your pet is wearing. Click on the item you would like to remove and select “Remove.” Before you know it your pet will be setting trends and turning heads all over Neopia!

How do I add items to my closet?

If you have a wearable item in your inventory you can click on the item to bring up the item’s information and an action menu. If the item is wearable you will have the option to “Put into your closet.”

What happens to the wearable items on my pet if I transfer or abandon my pet?

When you abandon your Neopet all Neopoint, Neocash and paint brush clothing it may have been wearing will be placed back into your closet. Abandoned Neopets will not enter the pound with any clothing items.

If you are sending your Neopet to another user using “direct transfer” the Neopoint items your pet is wearing when you send them will arrive with the pet on their new owner’s account! Neocash clothing and items will be returned to your closet and cannot be transferred with a Neopet. Finally, any paint brush clothing in your closet that matches the color and species of the pet you are transferring will go with the pet, even if it is not wearing it!

If the Secret Lab Ray zaps my pet into a different colour, do I get to keep the clothes?

If you change your Neopet’s colour or species any paint brush clothing items that your Neopet had previously will be returned to your closet. This means that if you use a paint brush, morphing potion or even the Lab Ray you will keep any clothes that you had earned from your pet’s previous colour!

Remember, if your Neopet was a robot and zaps into a new colour, you will need to remove the robot casing clothing items!
